Valley Initiative for Development and Advancement VIDA's CALENDAR
Winner 2004 TWC Transition Workforce Award

Valley Initiative for Development and Advancement (VIDA) was created on September 25, 1995 as a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization whose main purpose is to help low-income, unemployed and underemployed Rio Grande Valley residents get the training they need to secure a high-skilled, high-wage job.
In partnership with the La VISTA, made up by the Rio Grande Valley-Laredo Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, South Texas College, Texas State Technical College and the University of Texas Brownsville, VIDA is working with the electrical workers entering training by providing a case management support system to help alleviate the challenges and barriers encountered by entering formal training
The mission of the La VISTA is to provide the Electrical Construction Industry the most skilled workforce available. Today, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations shows only a handful of Master Electricians and journeyman for the RGV region; by allowing electrical workers (helpers) the skills upgrade will assure the industry will be well prepared for the future.
