In the Community

Last year, VIDA participants volunteered more than 1,000 hours of community service cleaning up vacant lots, removing debris from drainage ditches, picking up trash in city parks, and painting houses for elderly residents. Volunteering in these types of activities is one way that participants give back to their community.

This year, VIDA is organizing activities to coincide with Paint McAllen     Beautiful on March 5th, 2005 and the Great American Cleanup & Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-off on April 3rd,  and Earth Day & Texas Arbor Day on April 22nd and 25th which is sponsored by Keep McAllen Beautiful.  Mark your calendars!
