On July 22nd, VIDA proudly celebrated the graduation of its 4th Cohort of Commercial/Industrial Electricians in Brownsville. This significant achievement was made possible through our partnerships with Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation, the Rio Grande Valley Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, Workforce Solutions Cameron, and the U.S. Department of Labor.
Our graduates earned certifications in NCCER Core, NCCER Commercial Electrical Level 1 & 2, as well as OSHA 10 and 30. The comprehensive apprenticeship program offered a blend of lectures, theoretical learning, hands-on practice, and real-world employment. With two levels of training and fieldwork experience, our students are well-equipped for a successful career in the electrical industry.
Often, high school graduates enter the workforce without exploring job training opportunities due to a lack of awareness or career guidance. This training program addresses that challenge by providing competitive skills, industry-recognized credentials, and a clear career pathway leading to the Journeyman Electrician License. From the beginning, students are mentored to aspire towards and work diligently for the long-term goal of completing their on-the-job training and the state of Texas’ licensing exam.
We extend a huge congratulations to our graduates: Robert Nazario Chavez, Carlos Lopez III, Jose Perez, Kevin Castillo, Said Flores, Gonzalo Morales, Martin Gonzalez, Jose Araiza, Jose Luis Escobedo, Alejandro De Luna, and Luis A. Serrano. We also recognize Leslie Holcombe, Sergio Juarez, Joncarlo Chavez, Alejandro Torres, and Richard Anderson, who were not present.
We celebrate their hard work and dedication and look forward to their continued success in the electrical industry!
